Penton’s HPAC Engineering to Partner with Nevada Power at “Engineering Green Buildings” Conference

7/9/2008

NEW YORK (July 9, 2008) - Penton Media's HPAC Engineering today announced a new partnership with Nevada Power for the magazine's upcoming fifth annual Engineering Green Buildings (EGB) Conference and Expo October 21-22 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The Nevada Power Sure Bet Program will co-locate a one-day conference and regional partner exhibition at this year's EGB. In addition, the Nevada Power Sure Bet Program has also been designated as the Elite Host Sponsor of EGB. For complete conference information, visit www.egbconference.com.

The Sure Bet Program is designed to facilitate the implementation of cost effective energy efficiency improvements in new and existing businesses throughout the state.

"Nevada Power is putting energy conservation and renewable energy at the forefront for the state's electric customers," said Greg Kern, Nevada Power's director of energy efficiency & customer strategy. "Making businesses more energy efficient can help reduce high energy bills and is good for the environment we all share."

Sure Bet Program activities will take place on Tuesday, October 21. A trade show of exhibit stations staffed by regional partners will feature the latest energy-saving technology and energy-efficient-equipment installation services throughout the day.

In addition, a Nevada Power Sure Bet Program Awards Ceremony will take place during the EGB Welcome Reception on the evening of October 21. The awards ceremony will recognize commercial/institutional/industrial energy savings strategies that utilize Nevada Power Sure Bet Program expertise and incentives.

"We are pleased to be partnering with the Nevada Power Sure Bet Program on this significant, ground-breaking presentation series," said Jeff Ferenc, editor in chief of HPAC Engineering. "By joining forces, we can help drive traffic to both events and their respective trade shows."

The EGB Conference & Expo is the only networking and educational event dedicated to green mechanical systems design, technology and applications in non-residential buildings. The event offers specialized training sessions as well as an exposition of related products and services. New this year, the inaugural Commissioning Green Buildings (CxGB) Conference and Expo will also be co-located with EGB. The CxGB Conference and Expo will offer sessions on how commissioning can help achieve green building initiatives and LEED certification.

The events are expected to attract engineers, architects, mechanical contractors, facility managers, building owners/operators and commissioning specialists from around the country.
Exhibitors will include companies wishing to spotlight the energy savings and other green characteristics and applications of their products and services. The non-residential green-buildings market, currently estimated at more than $21 billion, is projected to triple over the next three years.
