ITSL Media
International Trade Shows Link (ITSL) Ltd is one of the largest and most established trade show representation companies in the UK and apart from looking after Düsseldorf Trade Fairs and all of its associated events worldwide for over 25 years, it also represents other selected international events in approximately 30 industry sectors in total. Accordingly the company has far reaching industry connections as well as an extensive database.
Our media division, ITSL media, represents a number of international publishers in related industry sectors, thus drawing on the wealth of contacts established by the show division and has been looking after selected Penton Media titles for some 15 years with Julian and Sue having been involved with PFFC for nearly 20 years.
Julian Maddocks-Born – Joint Managing Director, ITSL Ltd
After his apprenticeship as printer, Julian received his traineeship in Advertising Sales at the Express & Star Daily Newspaper in Wolverhampton. During his career as Advertising Sales Executive he worked across several different industries and titles including Commercial Motor, Farmer’s Weekly, The Oilman.
In 1978 he joined Maclean Hunter and worked on Modern Purchasing before becoming Publisher/Director for Packaging News and British Printer. Following the purchase of Maclean Hunter in 1995, Julian set up his own media representation company, now part of International Trade Shows Link which he runs jointly with his wife Renate.
Julian travels regularly around Europe on client visits. When he is not working, he indulges in reading, music and watching cycle racing. He loves all forms of vintage transport and both he and Renate love spending time with their two- and four-legged family.
Sue Facer – Media Sales Co-Ordinator, ITSL Ltd
Sue Facer joined ITSL media in 1995 and is responsible for co-ordinating advertising sales across all the titles we represent.
Her main areas of responsibility include
• Confirming renewals and sending out proposals
• Keeping in touch with all advertisers/prospects on a regular basis
• Research on new prospective advertisers
• Keeping the database updated and sending out regular e-shot mailings
• Arranging regular sales trips for Julian across Europe
• Visiting trade shows where appropriate to meet advertisers
Having worked with Julian previously at Maclean Hunter on Packaging News, as Classified Advertisement Manager, and British Printer until they were bought by Emap, Sue has been in media sales since 1971.
Sue is married with two adult sons and two dogs.
Julian and Sue are helped in their sales efforts by Benedict Hume who joined ITSL media as Sales Executive in January 2009 and whose ability to speak English, French, Polish and Russian greatly helps communication across Europe |
